About Sprout

Every day, young people across Australia are making a difference, but many of their incredible stories are only known within their own school or community. Sprout was created to change that. We are a quarterly magazine that celebrates the ideas, creativity and achievements of young Australians who are passionate about caring for our planet. Whether you live in the city, on a farm, by the coast, in the outback or in the mountains, your voice matters, and we want to hear what you have to say.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire young Australians to become curious, informed and hopeful environmental citizens by celebrating the actions of children and schools working towards a more sustainable future. We believe that when children see what other young people are achieving, they are inspired to take action in their own communities.

Who Can Contribute?

We welcome submissions from kids across Australia. Whether you’re a budding writer, scientist, artist, photographer, gardener, inventor or environmental advocate, we’d love to share your work. Submissions are welcomed from schools, homeschool groups and individual young people.

Our Vision

We hope Sprout becomes more than a magazine. We want it to become a national community where kids learn from one another, students celebrate each other’s successes, and young people discover that they are part of a growing movement of Australians creating positive change. Together, we can share ideas, celebrate achievements and inspire the next generation of environmental changemakers. Because every voice matters. And every small action helps our planet grow.
